Product Information. Konami's internationally acclaimed Winning Eleven soccer series makes its Xbox 360 debut with new teams, game modes, moves, and multiplayer matches. Players can now control the teams of Argentina, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden, or choose from a revamped roster of club teams. The in-depth Master League mode is once again showcased in this version, but further play options are available with the International Challenge and Random Match modes.

On the pitch, players are given more control over such skill moves as feints and sliding tackles, while online enthusiasts can participate in eight-player matches complete with divisional rankings. The game's speed and flow have also been reworked for a faster-paced experience than in previous installments, an attitude represented by cover athlete and quick-footed Brazilian striker, Adriano Leite Ribeiro. Still King of Video Game Soccer.for nowWinning Eleven has long been recognized for its superior gameplay which accurately emulates real soccer. This trend continues with this most recent version of Winning Eleven on the X360. The spectacular physics system, pinpoint control, and clever A.I. Truly shine in this game. However, Konami has done very little to fix the persistent complaints about graphic quality, sound (particularly the announcing), and menu interface system.

Whereas most games have improved graphically by leaps and bounds in next generation games, Winning Eleven lags behind. Compared to the photo-realistic FIFA 07 and soon to be released EA EUFA, Winning Eleven looks like the characters were drawn by a blind kid with crayons. The sound is not so much bad as it is nonexistent. Nothing meaningful is ever said o r done by the announcing crew or the ambient croud noise. The menu system has improved from previous Winning Eleven games, but that isn't saying much.

The menu remains outdated and counterintuitive.Notwithstanding the above, it appears Konami made the choice to refine gameplay before graphics when creating Konami's first Next Generation Winning Eleven game. Having owned and played both this and FIFA 07, I can tell you that Konami made the right decision now. The gap between FIFA and WE's gameplay is rapidly closing, but right now, WE still reigns supreme. Here is my rating of the game by category.Graphics: 3/5Gameplay: 5/5Control: 5/5Sound: 3/5Menu Syst.:4/5I hope my review was helpful. If you read this and found it useful please provide a positive review. Better than I thoughtI was completely taken by surprise by this game. I knew nothing about it, but was looking for a cheap soccer game to pick up and play. I really like it, its graphics are solid for being 3 years old, the player development is really cool in owner mode.

You have franchise type settings, where players progress, get older, and regress. Player movement happens as you can sign, borrow, release, trade players to any of the teams. Great game, I only paid 2 dollars for it which in my opinion is a steal. Missing Red Star Belgrade!Though I do like the game at Lacks the ability to edit the team names made up names that PES created? Like the later versions and the newer versions you can edit team names as well as 2 player names? Missing is Red Star Belgrade which that is one of my favorite teams and it's one of the favorite teams of many people around the world.

Not too long ago, I ran into a European games journalist at a press event. We said our hellos and talked about upcoming releases and the conversation eventually landed on. At the mention of Pro Evolution (as Konami's stellar soccer franchise is called in Europe), his face lit up, he whipped out his cell phone and started playing videos of his best goals in the game.Such is the outstanding gameplay of, and when you score a great goal you want to savor it and show it off to your friends.

It's a magnificent feeling to really crack one from distance or pull off the flip-flap with Ronaldinho to beat the keeper one-on-one. For soccer fans, that feeling is better than almost any other moment in other sports games. When's the last time someone whipped out their Blackberry to show you a touchdown in Madden? While EA's FIFA franchise (and the upcoming UEFA Champions League title) has surpassed Winning Eleven with better graphics, more licensed teams and stadiums, and more exciting atmosphere, Winning Eleven is still the best-playing game of soccer on the planet. The controls are tight, the star players shine and the AI continually challenges you. But hey, if you follow Winning Eleven then this isn't exactly breaking news. The gameplay has remained basically untouched for years now.

There isn't some wild new feature on the back of the box like Total Dribble Control or a Lace Your Boots mini-game. It's just good-old fashioned soccer. On the PSP, the game is much improved thanks to the inclusion of Master League and - you guessed it - subtle tweaks in gameplay. When you first boot up the game, the graphics look pretty poor. That's because there's some very poor color and texture used for the pitch.

It's not too hard to get grass right in a videogame, but here struggles. The players' faces in cutscenes slightly resemble the real-life counterparts, and everyone has a very stony look about them.

The game looks much better in action, however. Animations are great, especially as players jostle and interact with each other. The PSP version does look a bit fuzzy but is basically a toned-down PS2 game.

The audio booth is actually empty this year. Peter Brackley will scream a bit after a goal, but that is the extent of the commentary. The crowd is less-than-inspiring too, and sounds basically the same in every stadium with every team.

The menu music is still the drunken byproduct of an unemployed Eastern European disc jockey. Presentation has always been a problem for Winning Eleven, and that continues this season. There are a number of licensed teams and leagues and just as many unlicensed teams and imaginary players. There are a few roster gaffs as well - Vincenzo Montella, the 'Little Airplane,' is currently on a sixth month loan to Fulham, although he still shows up on the bench for AS Roma in the game. A nice new option is the ability to transfer edit files between the PS2 and PSP (no Master League, though).
